Political choice should be about policies not people.

I’d prefer it if the electorate focused on my concrete plans for resisting eco-austerity and digital dystopia. All facilitated by manufactured crises such as ” climate change”. And supported by the other parties including the Yorkshire Party.

But I do understand that before you vote for me as Mayor you’d like to know a little bit about me.

I was born in Dewsbury in 1967 and have lived for most of my life in West Yorkshire- in Kirklees and Wakefield.

I’m a qualified accountant who mostly worked as a finance director of local FE colleges. In 2006 I decided to retrain as an acupuncturist. I’ve worked full time as an acupuncturist since 2010. I’ve helped thousands of people with a wide range of health issues. I’ve also developed an acute understanding of the challenges facing the self employed and small businesses.

I currently live in Clayton West at the southern tip of the county about half a mile from the border with South Yorkshire.

I’m not a professional politician. Prior to 2020 I’d had no involvement in politics.  I’m standing because I’ve come to realise that political parties are captured and controlled by big business interests.

I’m an (increasingly slow) swimmer, cyclist and marathon runner.

Most importantly I’m dad to two children whose futures I am fighting for.
